Getting started
What's in the ZIP, and the five steps from download to a live website on your own domain.
Every Artizan template is a complete website built with Astro, with a Sanity Studio for editing its content. You download the source code, run it on your computer, connect it to your own Sanity project and deploy it to a host you choose.
What's in the ZIP
The download is named after the template and its version, for example ferro-v1.0.0.zip. It contains:
- the source code of the website (
src/) - the Sanity Studio and its content model (
studio/) - sample content, so the site runs before you connect Sanity
Dockerfile.staticandDockerfile.node, for hosting in a container.env.example, which lists every setting the site reads- a
README.mdwith anything specific to that template
It does not contain environment files, API keys, tokens or Git history. You create your own settings in the steps below.
From download to a live site
- Check the requirements. Node.js 22, pnpm and a Sanity account. See Requirements.
- Install locally. The site runs with its sample content; no accounts are needed yet. See Install locally.
- Connect Sanity. One command creates your Sanity project and writes your settings. See Connect Sanity.
- Add your content. Replace the sample content in Studio. See Content & Studio.
- Deploy. Put the site on a static host, a Node server or Docker, and connect your domain. See Deploy.
Rather not do it yourself?
Choose Template + setup when you buy. For $149 on top of the template price, we create the repository, the Sanity project and Studio, deploy the site and connect your domain. You add your content. See Setup service.
