Content & Studio
Where your content lives in Studio, how publishing works and how to put Studio online for the people who edit your site.
Studio is the editor for your website. Everything visitors read, including pages, navigation, footer and SEO text, is edited there. Locally it runs at http://localhost:3333.
How content is organized
Most templates use the same structure. The home page, pages and the template's own content types (such as projects or articles) come first. Site, Navigation, Footer and Settings come last. Each page opens with four tabs: Page, Content, SEO and Settings. The template's README.md lists anything specific to it.
Replace the sample content
Go through each document and replace the sample text and images with your own. Studio asks for alt text on every image unless you mark it as decorative. Write a sentence that describes what the image shows.
Photography and illustrations in the live preview are for demonstration only. They are not part of the download unless the template's README.md says otherwise. See the license.
Publish
Changes stay drafts until you press Publish. A static site shows published changes after its next build. To rebuild automatically on every publish, set up the webhook in Deploy.
Put Studio online
pnpm sanity:deploy
This publishes Studio to an address on sanity.studio, so you and your editors can sign in from anywhere. The first time, it asks you to choose the address.
To give someone access, invite them as a member of your project at sanity.io/manage.
